Hi guys, thought i'd introduce myself. My name's Austin and I live in Texas(I hope you guys don't mind a foreigner round here Cool ) Lot different fishing over here, untapped massive reservoirs and fully wild fish, there's a lot of pioneering involved. I'm a prostaffer for CarpPro magazine, one of the only carp fishing publications over here. Hope to add a unique perspective to the forum. Bye for now guys Wink

A great untapped treasure is carping over there, not many 'carpers' are there?

Not at all it was actually almost 80F here yesterday (about 26C) which is unseasonably warm. There was snow on the ground a week ago though so this won't last long at all.

Awesome glad to be the first

Yeah not many carpers at all, only a few thousand scattered through the continent. Quite a few here in Texas, a mix between british expats and regular old guys who just got interested in it like myself. It's a bit more difficult getting tackle and gear over here, I order most of my gear from the UK, and Carp definitely aren't the local favorite here by any means, but that's changing.

I'll get some pics up in a few minutes

Honestly I have no idea hahaha they are small, lame fish that are abundant. They are a bit fun to catch with a fly rod or something, but i'd take a carp any day.
