I play in the Michelin squash leagues at the moment, currently top of the league (3 out of 3 now! with one game to play)
Took me a while to get properly into it but I have improved no end, learning all of the tactics and different shots and rules etc..
Its only £2.70 for a game, you do need to be a member though (£35 a year) but the facilities are excellent.
The standard varies there, and thre are 6 different leagues, the top ones are amazing players but there are new starters, people who just want to get fit (me) and people who just like socialising.
They also have a saturday morning session where a few of them all meet up, play a few games and get to know your league players!
