    Sea Fishing Empty Sea Fishing

Post by mumf Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:30 am

    Hello again....

I had a bit of a stroll down the promenade at Otterspool in south Liverpool (about 50 mins journey from Stoke) tonight. I did so as a result of reading the fishing reports on this website I came across... http://www.wirralseafishing.co.uk/venuespotlight/perchrock/venuespotlightperchrock.php
I spoke to some lads from Nottingham who were there after the Cod and all four of them had caught both Cod and whiting. The Mersey is fishing very well at the moment, with lugworm, squid and mackerel being the top baits.
I think the best fishing venue is at Otterspool and the good thing about it is that the promenade is well lit at night time. You probably wouldn't even need a headlamp.Any cheap but strong rod wil do you with a good carp reel and 20-25 lb reel line with a 3 0z gripper lead. You could combine a good night out on the town with some sea fishing if you fancied it...different nights obviously lol!
The website is regularly updated with fishing reports from all around the area and the lads who are on there are always keen to offer tips and bits of advice.
Have a look and see what you think...

I had a dangle tonight for 3 hours...3 whiting and a codling. Would have been even better if I hadn't cast my reading glasses in! clown Never mind , I was using it as a practise session for my African adventure up the Gambia river next month.I'm combining it with some bird watching of both the feathered and human varieties. Shocked I'll let you know how I get on ....
