The latest release this week may interest the catfish anglers; ‘CatChunx’ have been developed after listening to catfish anglers and fishery owners to produce specialist 25mm pre-oiled pellets in two different flavours. Stinky Marine is an orange coloured bait heavily laced with smelly mackerel flavours and then coated in similar oils, and Bloodworm which, as you may guess, is a bloodworm flavoured alternative. Pallatrax are also producing purpose made catfish rigs which enable the newcomer to catfishing to be sure that their baits are presented effectively. The rigs are all hand tied in the UK using 30lbs coated hook links (‘Snaglink’) and a 60mm hair for the bigger baits. All rigs incorporate an 80lbs breaking strain swivel to ensure the biggest moggy hits the net. Available in size 2 barbed and size 2 & 4 barbless, the rigs retail at £2.25 each. Hopefully, I will be trying the CatChunx at a cat venue in the near future and I’ll let you know how I get on.........

New Pallatrax stockists this month include Cheshire Bait Supplies, 205 Frodsham Road, Helsby, Cheshire WA6 0DA (07949 130451). Owner Andy James is himself an avid user of Pallatrax products and was only too pleased to take up an additional account telling me he thinks that the range of ‘Naturals’ will do very well; if you want to speak to Andy, make sure you visit the shop to find out more. Andy offers a range of angling services, so if you think he can help, get in touch. Also involved in the Pallatrax revolution are ’What’s the Catch’ of Market Street, St Austell, Cornwall (01726 822753), East Cowes Angling, East Cowes, Isle of Wight (07730 535619) and the fantastic Whiteacres Holiday Park near Newquay, Cornwall (0844 3353450). Welcome aboard!!

Pallatrax MD Simon Pomeroy took to the River Wye with some of the team recently to shoot video footage and photographs for the revamped website which is out soon. A slow(ish) first day resulted in only a few chub and barbel in difficult conditions, so after a night of quiet (!) socialising, the intrepid gang returned to the bank the next day. Using method mix wrapped around a Stonze weight and Pallatrax ‘Squabs’ on the hook, the team were soon amongst the fish with more than 30 chub and 25 barbel landed during a mad 2 hour period!

The all new Pallatrax webshop is now up and running, so for all your Natural needs, visit the website and click on ‘shop’!
